Happy Saturday! I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend! Today’s spotlight is gonna be on the Anastasia Moon Child Glow Kit (wow 2 ABH products in a row whoops), let’s go!
So first of all, let’s talk about the packaging! It’s HOLO so the palette looks pretty before even opening it! It’s blue to white ombre, and in direct light the holo comes through! It’s fairly thin and lightweight so it’s great for travelling, and it seems fairly sturdy.
The other Glow Kits 4 x 0.26 oz pans and this one has 6 x 0.15 oz pans, so while you get more shades you get roughly the same amount of product in each palette, I think; i’m numlexic so I could be very wrong about that! They’re both $40, but since I live in the UK I had to order it directly from their website which came to $57.95/£43.58 including shipping from the US, but it did arrive in 2 days so no complaints here! (Although another thing to note is I did get customs charges a few days later which was about £20 but that’s not their fault)
The shades are stunning but I will admit that when I first swatched and tried them I was a little let down. They didn’t seem very pigmented and barely showed up on my skin, but after using it a few times and getting rid of the harder top layer the pigment really showed up, so if you get the same issue I just recommend giving them a good swatch first to get rid of that top layer. Plus it is worth noting that highlighters are a little hard to see on my skin because i’m so pale so keep that in mind while looking at the swatches! They blend beautifully and layer really nicely, and once they hit the light they are so beautiful! I wish I could post a video of them in motion because that’s when they really shine (bad um tss) but i’m sure if you look on youtube or instagram you’ll be able to see!
PRICE- I’ve already touched on this but I think the price is good for what you get, and if I didn’t have to pay shipping and customs then it would have been a little less than all the other ones so I can’t complain. You get 6 highlighters that are pigmented, ‘unusual’ and long lasting so I’d say it’s a damn good deal!
QUALITY- The highlighters feel smooth, not grainy at all, give a lovely sheen with no glitter or chunk and they last for ever. I always notice that it’s still on when I go to take my makeup off at the end of the day, and when they hit the light I always have a moment of “oooooh, shiiiiny…” 😂
Overall, I love this. I knew I would when I first saw it. It’s not something you need, but if you like the “weirder” shades then this is something you should consider getting. Obviously you can get dupes but it’s nice to have a go to palette that I can grab for all of my mermaid needs!
Alright that’s it! Hope this was useful in some way, catch ya next time! x
